Next Big Thing 6...where to start? My position throughout this day was blended between "in the crowd" responsibilities as well as dealing with the backstage drama that is ever present at any big event. I took in a lot that day, from everyone around me, and today I still process all of the information collected. But from everything experienced (all things ranging from helping an obsessed MCR fan deliver a gift to Gerard she had been working on for years, to the bomb mashed potatoes that they were serving in the catering trailer, to being asked for Advil by Matt from Taking Back Sunday) nothing could compare to the feeling of being officially introduced to nearly 20,000 people by Fisher and Boy on the stage of the Ford Amphitheater. I'll take being a new "DJ" any day. I like to think of the stage as my second home, and I hope that one day again in the future, I can look out on to a crowd with that much spirit and enthusiasm. The fans of 97X make all of the hard work, sweat, and blood that it takes to put on a show like this, worth so much. Hopefully I will see all of you, and you'll see more of me again very soon. Give Thanks!
