GREEN CONTESTS Pollution Prevention WeekThe Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will celebrate September 15 - 21, 2008, as National Pollution Prevention Week. Floridas theme for this years Pollution Prevention Week is Greening Floridas Future and will focus on green cleaning methods. The state is encouraging residents, businesses and schools to prevent pollution at the source through green cleaning, green purchasing and the proper disposal of hazardous cleaners and household waste. Statewide events during Pollution Prevention Week include hazardous materials drop-offs at local household hazardous waste facilities in exchange for a free microfiber cloth, green cleaning kit giveaways at area businesses as well as green cleaning presentations to schools and other educational activities. In order to help you celebrate, DEP will be offering our listeners a chance to win a green cleaning kit beginning September 15th. The kit is a quality bucket filled with a spray bottle, microfiber cloth, green cleaning brochure with recipes for green cleaners, and products.
