GREEN CONTESTS

Pollution Prevention Week

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will celebrate September 15 - 21, 2008, as National Pollution Prevention Week. Florida’s theme for this year’s Pollution Prevention Week is “Greening Florida’s Future” and will focus on “green” cleaning methods. The state is encouraging residents, businesses and schools to prevent pollution at the source through “green” cleaning, “green” purchasing and the proper disposal of hazardous cleaners and household waste. Statewide events during Pollution Prevention Week include hazardous materials drop-offs at local household hazardous waste facilities in exchange for a free microfiber cloth, green cleaning kit giveaways at area businesses as well as green cleaning presentations to schools and other educational activities.

Please click here for additional information on P2 Week 2008 activities and events.

Green Cleaning Kit Contest Starting September 15th!
In order to help you celebrate, DEP will be offering our listeners a chance to win a “green” cleaning kit beginning September 15th. The kit is a quality bucket filled with a spray bottle, microfiber cloth, green cleaning brochure with recipes for green cleaners, and products. All items are environmentally friendly and/or made from recycled content.

Check back next week for your chance to enter to win. In the mean time, click here for your chance to enter some other great contests!
