ABOUT THE BAND In the early months of 2009 Matt Segallos and Christopher Brickman began to write songs together for the first time. Matt was at the helm for lyric and songwriting, with Christopher navigating lead guitar. They soon realized, after a few months of writing, that it was time to enlist a few more members to complete a full band. Reed Murray came on to hold down the drumming duties and Sean Allred rounded it out playing bass. It was soon apparent, through their meshing and rehearsals, that the band's sound was moving from the original acoustic ideas into a more driving rock n roll feel. That change was a welcomed one, and they know no boundaries. They pull from several genres including Americana, Folk, and Rock, giving the band a fairly diverse sound. Marksmen is now the name these southern gentlemen answer to, after having to change names recently, due to the fact their first name was already taken. The band can be seen several times a month playing around Tampa at Crowbar, Transitions Art Gallery, Czar, and more. They just finished tracking an EP with producer Gilbert Ott III holding the reigns. Marksmen's debut EP "The Blue and The Grey" will be released this fall. | ||
