Originally headed by James Barnard (vocals/guitar) and Dave Patrick (drums), the London-based Inhaler debuted in 1995 with their arrangements of heavy guitars, samples, and techno drum loops. As their hybrid use of dance and metal continued, Garth Drunsden eventually took over on drums along with an array of bass players. After signing with Sofa Records in 1997, the three-piece would release the album Volume that same year, followed by 1998's Metal Inferno EP and 1999's Chang. ~ Mike DaRonco
