Sessanta 2025: Maynard James Keenan talks bringing back 'one of my favorite tours I've ever done'

After launching the Sessanta tour in 2024 to celebrate his 60th birthday, Maynard James Keenan will bring it back in 2025. Speaking to ABC Audio, Keenan describes the first Sessanta leg as "probably one of my favorite tours I've ever done."

"We didn't get to a lot of cities," Keenan says. "So that's why we are doing it again, 'cause there was a Tool tour, then I had to sandwich this in the middle of another Tool tour."

As with the 2024 shows, Sessanta 2025 will feature a bill of Keenan's bands A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, as well as Primus. Each band performed multiple mini sets featuring a number of onstage collaborations between the different members.

"It's always gonna be delicate when it comes to the personalities of the band," Keenan says. "But Puscifer, A Perfect Circle and Primus ... it was just seamless."

Keenan adds that he feels the theatricality of Puscifer brings a new dimension to the APC and Primus live experiences.

"If you've seen [an] A Perfect Circle show, you've seen a Primus show, they're wonderful shows, but this is different," Keenan says. "People are [saying], 'Why is this so different?' Puscifer's the difference."

"Puscifer's ... a three-ring sideshow circus," he laughs. "And it works for these three bands."

Sessanta 2025 launches in April.
