Taylor Swift dropped four songs overnight in advance of the start of her Eras Tour Friday in Glendale, Ariz.
Swift posted on Instagram Thursday that “in celebration of the Eras Tour,” she would be releasing four previously unreleased songs at midnight.
The songs are: “Eyes Open (Taylor’s Version),”; “Safe & Sound (Taylor’s Version)” featuring Joy William and John Boy Music; “If This Was a Movie (Taylor’s Version)”; and “All of the Girls You Loved Before.”
The songs tagged “Taylor’s Version” are rerecordings. The rerecordings were produced after the singer’s former label, Big Machine, sold the master recordings to her music catalog.
Swift begins her tour in Glendale on Friday. City officials have renamed Glendale “Swift City” in honor of Swift’s choice to kick off her 2023 tour in Glendale.
“There is no need to calm down, we’re fearless and doing something highly unusual to celebrate the fact that Taylor’s concerts start right here!,” Glendale city officials said in a statement.
“We know all too well that she’s one of the most influential artists of her generation and we are writing our own love story for her and greeting every Swiftie in style!”
