The White Stripes' 'Get Behind Me Satan' celebrated with 20th anniversary companion

Third Man Records

Jack White's Third Man Records has announced a 20th anniversary companion to The White Stripes' 2005 album, Get Behind Me Satan.

The compilation, dubbed Get Behind Me Satan XX, will be the latest package released through the Third Man Records Vault subscription service. The track list includes previously unreleased demos, alternate takes and live recordings spread across two vinyl LPs, a 7-inch single and a Blu-ray disc.

With its thumping lead single "Blue Orchid," Get Behind Me Satan initially looked like a continuation of its riff-heavy predecessor, 2003's Elephant, which spawned "Seven Nation Army." Instead, the record as a whole turned out to be more of a stripped-down, acoustic-driven affair with songs including "My Doorbell," "Little Ghost" and "Forever for Her (Is Over for Me)."

Still, Get Behind Me Satan boasted a few heavier guitar moments alongside "Blue Orchid," including "Instinct Blues" and "Red Rain."

If you'd like to receive Get Behind Me Satan XX, you need to sign up for the Vault before Jan. 31 at midnight CT. In the meantime, you can watch a video of the included live version of "Blue Orchid," filmed during a May 2005 show in Mexico City, on YouTube.
